Nearly two years ago my husband bought me a macro lens. And, for the most part, it has sat in a drawer all this time. This is because although I love to experiment with new knitting and quilting techniques and patterns, love trying new foods and recipes, love learning new things and reading tons of books - I tend to be slow to pick up new tech things. I don't particularly enjoy reading books on how to take better pictures and I find switching camera lenses to be a chore. But yesterday Greg needed to photograph a page in a book and he switched my camera lens. I didn't realize that there was a maco lens on my camera until I went to take pictures this morning.
At first I was a bit annoyed that I had to figure out how to switch my lens back in order to photograph my quilt. But then curiosity got the best of me and I began taking macro picture of things around the house. This was so much fun. Who knew that this little lens makes everything look amazing?! This lens makes trash, dead flowers, discarded items, old pets, rocks and knitting mishaps look like art.
