This week marks the fourth installment of focus, a little photo project that Sarah and I are collaborating on.
Each week we hope to take time to Focus ourselves and to Focus our cameras.
To Focus on looking and seeing,
to Focus on how we spend our time,
to Focus on friends and family and what's important,
to Focus on what's been there all the along but we just didn't take the time to look.
This week our Focus is on water.
We ran errands all morning as the rain came down. And just when we were all feeling claustrophobic and a bit sick of mailing and driving and shopping and choosing and standing in line... just when we were getting a bit sick of one another (it happens!) the rain stopped.
It stopped as we were driving along the river - along this calm, clear stretch of water. So the kiddos and I took advantage of this break in the rain and decided on an impromptu stop. Instantly, the sound and the sight and the smell and the feel of the cool water soothed us and breathed new life into our day. I have always loved this power that being near water has over us.
On the ride home I felt grateful for the quiet in the car.
And grateful for my kiddos, whose decision it was to make this impromptu stop on the water.
what a good mama you are! to take the time to notice that a change was in order...and then to act on it! I love the water too...I feel like I think more clearly when I'm around the water...especially the beach. Have a great weekend! hugs to you!

Beautiful! I am always amazed at the calming effect of water--especially on my beloved yet wild firstborn.
