With my kiddos home for the long weekend, spring fund raising in full swing at their school, and a taekwondo competition on the horizon I've had a full week.
And with Valentine's Day coming up in just a few short weeks I've been thinking a lot about 'giving' once again. And of course with giving comes making - oh, how I love the making that proceeds the giving!
Yesterday I was puttering about in my sewing space, gathering materials for my kiddos' Valentine's gifts when I spotted this gorgeous skein of Koigu wool that was gifted to me by Jennifer.
At some point during this past Hanukkah/Christmas season I realized that I wasn't going to be able to complete a handmade gift for everyone on my list so I turned to my friends for help. I was so excited to find that Jennifer included this yummy merino wool (just for me) along with the handmade goodness from her shop.
And very quickly the wool became this.
Which I wore like this.
I love it so.
Bracelet inspired by one I spotted in a knitting book on our last bookstore trip.
I jotted down: CO 55 stitches. Seed stitch for 12 rows. YO buttonhole.
If you know which book this is from please let me know. I have many such notes that I jot down in the sweetest little notebook gifted to me by another great friend.
The best part is that I have plenty of yarn left for lots more making! Now all I need to do is find more time!
Beautiful quick project! And wool!

Looks like the bracelet project from More Last-Minute Knitted Gifts by Joelle Hoverson, which came out sometime in the fall. I've made a couple and they're pretty nifty.

There is always so much to plot and plan. Sometimes my head is just swirling. Cute bracelet!

Your little wristband is precious.
I have so many things I want to make and so little time to accomplish it all (and yes, Kristyn is a great friend!).

Cute, what a clever and crafy idea. I find so much joy in the "proceeds of giving" too (i love that). Here's hoping you find some extra time for knitting, can't wait to see what else you crank out. Happy weekending to you!

For reasons unknown, I mentally read the end of your jotted knitting pattern in a NYC cabbie accent:
"YO, buttonhole!"
I'm still giggling. I must need more sleep...
Love the wristlet!

The flowers anew, returning seasons bring! But beauty faded has no second spring. Do you agree?
