...after a very busy Friday and Saturday during which my 4-year-old battled a stomach virus, my 7-year-old turned 8 and my 10-year-old, along with his brother, tested for their purple belts in Taekwondo.
Today we stayed home and read... and played newly gifted games.. and ate leftover birthday cake... and watched the rain come down.
Between down pours we ran outside to play and enjoy the beauty that rain leaves behind.
We found rainbows in our bubbles.
We discovered brand new leaves on our red maple trees.
We spied a rabbit who came to munch on our grass (weeds really).
We noticed how vibrant our pansies looked against all the gray.
We saw how the rain was nourishing our oak trees.
And our young maple.
And the river birch that we planted six years ago.
Thank you rain, for bringing us all of this beauty.
And thank you for pausing long enough to let us run outside and enjoy it.
I hope your weekend was filled with wonder - and rest - and breaks from the down pour!
